Frequently Asked Questions
What is thePROhundred?
thePROhundred is part of Sandcroft Avenue Limited, the internet sports and events company. Sandcroft Avenue Limited aims to enhance the experience and enjoyment of people that participate in events and sports through internet-based solutions. As part of this group, thePROhundred is specifically focused on enabling amateur team sports players to improve their game, find other players, vote on teammate's skills, add players to their team and organise matches and tactics through simple internet-based solutions. What is thePROhundred score on my profile?
Each user has a score known as thePROhundred. This is an extremely important score as it shows the overall ability of the player based on the average scores of all their different attributes as a player. You can compare the overall ability of players by this score and research the player further by looking at their profile which shows the breakdown of thePROhundred score. A player's score is based on five different areas, each of which has a number of attributes associated with it. The first three areas relate to outfield players and include Personal, Physical and Technical attributes. The final two areas are specialist areas for Goalkeepers and Managers. Each area has an average score based on how the users see's themselves and how their network has voted on them. These averages scores are used to calculate thePROhundred score of the player and this can be seen at a glance in the search listings. These statistics will help you decide which players to shortlist and which players to approach for games or trials. Similarly, other players and clubs will assess your statistics in the same way and base their decision on whether or not to approach you. How are my statistics calculated?
When you register your profile you will be asked to allocate 1500 points to your statistics to get things started. Once you are registered and you begin to grow your network your friends can then vote on your statistics. We then use a number of calculations designed by thePROhundred to work out your score for each individual attribute. These scores are uploaded to your profile accordingly and are used to work out your thePROhundred overall score. Why are my statistics capped at 1500 points when I register or update my profile?
Not everyone can be a Premier League footballer and we want to ensure that your skills are accurately reflected in your profile statistics. If we did not apply a cap there is a risk that some people would abuse the system in order to give the impression that they are world class footballers in order to get attention. The cap still enables you to score yourself 100 in some areas but this will need to be offset by lower scores in areas where you are less skilled. By enforcing a cap we believe players will think more carefully about how they allocate their points to their statistics. How do I improve my statistics?
Your statistics are improved by the people who know you best, your friends and the people who play in matches with you. The more friends you have, the more potential votes you will receive to improve your statistics. When one of your friends votes on you they can allocate as many points as they like without a cap. This means the only way for you to improve your overall score is to train hard, play well, and get your friends to vote on your skills. How often can my friends vote on my statistics?
Only people connected to you as friends can vote on your statistics and they can vote on you every month. When a month has passed since they last rated you they will be sent an email reminder that they are free to vote on you again and will be invited to do so. Restricting the vote to once a month gives you time to work on your game, improve your technique and get your friends to vote on your statistics to show the improvement you have made. You have to earn high scores at thePROhundred! How does the player ranking work?
Each player has a ranking based on the number of votes they have received. The basic level is Rookie and as you get more people voting on you this rank will change and improve. Your rank has an impact on the way in which your statistics are calculated but more importantly it acts as a reference for others who may view your profile. For example, if you have really good statistics but a low ranking (e.g. Rookie) then other people viewing your profile will know that the score you have is only based on a few people's votes and is therefore a less reliable indicator of your ability than someone with good statistics and a high ranking (as they have more votes). What is the Shortlist?
The Shortlist is essentially your transfer target list where you can save players that look promising for your team which you identify through the search facility. You may not know these users but by adding them to your Shortlist you can easily find them again if you need new players without having to search the entire database of players. When you add a player to your Shortlist a notification email will be sent to that player telling them they have been shortlisted and they can see that their profile is doing its job by attracting interest. Similarly, if you are shortlisted by another player or club you will receive an email notification to that effect. This statistic is shown at the top of your profile and is another indication of how good a player is. How does the 'search' function work?
The search function enables you to look for players to join your team or to organise matches with. You can search our extensive database of players using a number of search criteria in order to focus on specific players by region, by position, by preferred foot and many other categories. What is the Marketplace?
The Marketplace is where you go to advertise or look for new players, new teams, equipment, sponsorship and matches. If you are looking for a game or a new team when you have moved house then you can advertise yourself at the Marketplace. Similarly if you have a team and you are looking for new players you can use the Marketplace to advertise your team, arrange trials, seek other teams for matches in your area and even look for sponsorship and equipment. For local businesses this is the ideal place to look for a partnership with teams local to your organisation and get your name up on the shirts of the top local teams. What is Comparison?
Comparison is a tool that allows you to directly compare players with one another simultaneously so that you do not have to switch between player profiles to make a decision on whether or not you want to offer them a game or add them to your Shortlist. What do I get if I upgrade my account?
